The ceiling was like swiss cheese, it was there, but it wasn’t. Sunlight filtered through the holes, making these easily one of the brightest hospital interiors I had ever encountered. This was multiplied by the cheery happy colors painted inside the halls and on the doors, falling apart and rotting with age.
I love colors and the connotations that go with them. One of my favorite things about asylums I photograph is the chipping paint colors on the walls, on doors, etc. There is nothing better than one color giving way to another giving way to another. And this asylum was full of color.
